Networked audio with addressable loudspeakers is a popular approach to sound masking, paging and music distribution. While offering the utmost in flexibility and control, Dynasound networked systems consist of a few easy to specify components, use standard network hardware, are CobraNet ready and allow control of every loudspeaker individually.
The industry’s first PoE (Power over Ethernet) sound masking system sets the standard for control. Every loudspeaker can be individually configured to receive one or more of eight network audio channels and the output of one or more of four sound masking generators. Privacy Manager software enables adjustments on a system-wide, per zone, or per loudspeaker basis.
Dynasound’s DS8000 loudspeaker controller is the industry’s first power over Ethernet sound masking controller. Power over Ethernet (PoE) and CAT5 cabling provide power and networked digital audio signals to the DS8000. Each DS8000 has eight loudspeaker outputs designed to power Dynasound’s DS1356 or other network-capable loudspeakers. Each DS8000 is capable of receiving 8 network audio channels. In addition, each DS8000 contains four independent sound masking generators each having full 1/3 octave EQ. Each loudspeaker output has independent control and access to the eight audio network channels and the four internal sound masking generators. A DSP matrix mixer allows any combination of channels to be delivered to any loudspeaker.
The DS1356 loudspeaker is designed to be installed above suspended ceilings or in open-structure facilities. Loudspeakers are available in white or black. The loudspeakers are connected to the outputs of the DS8000 using standard 18 AWG two-conductor wire. Loudspeakers are suspended using a single point suspension. These loudspeakers are 8-ohm loudspeakers and should not be used on 70 volt systems.
The DS1398 is designed for in-floor or above ceiling plenums as shallow as 1¾”. The dual-driver device offers a low profile, yet produces broad sound masking distribution. In addition to underfloor or shallow plenum use, it is also a problem solver for large ceiling plenums where it is difficult to suspend a loudspeaker from above. You can specify an optional mounting bridge for these applications. An optional bridge mount for the DS1398 is available for use in ceiling plenums (DSSSB-4).
The DS1320 (Qt Active Emitter, Fusion Edition)is a single-source Emitter with both sound masking and simultaneous clear reproduction of paging and music signals. The Qt Active Emitter can be connected to a DS8000 network sound masking processor via plenum-rated AWG 2 conductor cable and a terminal block connector.
The DS3008 and DS3002 processors can be used as the paging and music interface for the Networked system. The DS3008 provides 4 internal sound masking generators, 8 balanced line inputs, and outputs, input EQ and compression, as well as a DSP matrix mixer. All of this is just one rack unit. The DS3002 has the same internal DSP but with 2 balanced line-level inputs instead of 8. Dynasound’s networked sound masking systems utilize industry-standard PoE network switches. ASIO4ALL is a free and alternative audio driver which allows its users to get very low latency from their sound adapter.
While most sound cards on the market allow you to playback audio without issue, ASIO4ALL provides a free alternative if you're having issues running software which increases latency on sound output.
It's a generic WDM driver that can be used in various situations, especially when you're using an older audio device or running an older version of Windows which doesn't include support for your audio driver.
ASIO4ALL is ideal for MIDI devices and provides installation without problems and requires no special knowledge or settings. Installation is pretty quick and straightforward. When you start ASIO4ALL, it will appear in the system tray where it can be accessed to manage the driver. Different options include latency in/out compensation, buffer offset and resample audio between 44.1kHz and 48kHz.
The WDM device list has controls for output and input including mix capture, speaker output, etc.
Overall, a great alternative for people experiencing issues when working with audio mixing and creation projects.
